11th Full Moon 'jiyestha' in Bali

on the 1 st of may is the 11th full moon, or we called it full moon Jiyestha. Full moon in Bali among the Hindu Balinese is consider special day. Today is temple festival in one of our village temple called kahyangan temple, this temple is one of main temple in our village beside Pura Desa(Desa Temple we adore god Brahma, god on his function as a creator), Pura Puseh (Puseh Temple we adore god Wisnu, god on his function as protector) and Pura Dalem (Dalem Temple we adore god siwa on his function as Destroyer). we are wear the temple festival 'dress code' which are white scarf ( called udeng), white sash and batik cloth (sarung) for men and for women are white kebaya (traditional cloth) and batik cloth. People from my 'Banjar'(banjar is community centre, 1 village consist of many banjars) gather in Pura Desa at this afternoon by carrying temple worship then we proceed to Pura Kahyangan. Well...it's like big parade all dress in white and colour full temple worship also followed by gamelan instrument. It's take only few minute ' 15 minute' walk to Pura kahyangan. the festival start from the morning since many Pilgrim coming, people from my banjar arrive at the temple that was pretty crowd at the temple already,after we have sit the procession is start, then we pray together. finish Praying the people of my banjar headed back to pura desa with temple worship, back home......It's definitely clear full moon this evening, no cloud..beautiful full moon and see you next time..
