Balinese Costume

As we know, Bali is famous with diversity of cultures and customs. As Balinese custom is one typical of Balinese culture for example "Kemben". Kemben is important thing in Bali that has function as symbol of Balinese costume. Kemben is used from some various backgrounds be it for both men and women, and all of ages and also from any caste they belong. With an increasingly sophisticated technological advancement, Balinese costume have many form and color, but have same function that famous with name " Kebaya", it is Balinese costume for women. At the time of committing a ceremony likes Potong Gigi, Balinese use cloth weaving as full dress that made from songket and peradan. Especially costume for men such as kemben, Udeng (destar), has function as facilities at the head, saput. While costume for women such as; the shawl of songket, kemben songket, the belt of prada that use to wrap from the hips to the chest. Behind the kamben in use a piece of tapih or the sinjang out passes kemben. Another is the case with the wedding, in terms of indigenous dress is divided into 3 parts namely; nista, madya and utama is often known as the great makeup (tata rias Agung). The costume that used by men and women is different:

1. Balinese Costume for men
For completeness in costume for men which consists of udeng or headband, kain kampuh, umpal or cloth scarves binder, kain wastra or kemben, belt, keris and ornament of jewelry. As a complement often worn dress shirt, suit and footwear.

2. Balinese Costume for women
For completeness in costume for women which consists of kain wastra, tapih or sinjang, belt of prada, twisted around the hips and chest, Gelung (sanggul), songket shoulder scarf down, sesenteng (kemben songket) and well as a wide array of jewelry ornamentation. From the traditional costume for women is also often used kebaya, then fabric to cover the chest as well as footwear for the complement.
